The other SG Petch ANECCC points scores were Chris Anderson/Chris Thirling (Ford Fiesta) with their best Otterburn finish of 19th overall, from a seeding of 66. Last SG Petch finisher was Josh Davison who on this rally was co-driving his father Michael (Proton Satria).

There is a change of date for the final round of the championship, the Grizedale Stages Rally; it will now run on the 26th/27th November, with scrutineering and a night stage on Saturday 26th, with six further stages on the Sunday.
After running the ANECCC Stage Rally Championship for the last 5 years I think it is time for someone with fresh ideas to take over the reigns and take the championship forward. So if you know of someone who may be interested in taking on this role can they contact me or any of the ANECCC officials, and we can discuss what is involved etc.
If anyone has any questions please contact.

Bulletin – 10/11
For the 8th round of the SG Petch ANECCC Stage Rally Championship competitors gathered in the Greystoke forest for the Greystoke Stages, which is one of the few single venue forest rallies in the UK. Being a single venue has the added challenge of being run on maps as pacenotes are not permitted on a single venue rally. The conditions were warm and dry all day, with the stages being in perfect condition.
For the 5th time this year the Cumbrian son and father team of Richard and Edwin Cook (Subaru Impreza) took maximum SG Petch points. They led the rally for the first 4 stages but an overshot on the 5th stage cost them 16 seconds dropping them to second, where they remained until the finish, just 12 seconds behind the winner. Following on from his first championship maximum points last time out on the Jim Clark Reivers Rally Mark I’Anson/ Ron Roughead (Mitsubishi Evo
finished 3rd overall, and collected 2nd place ANECCC championship points. This was despite an off at the finish of the first stage which bent the front suspension and led to some strange handling for the rest of the day. Third SG Petch ANECCC finishers were Geoff Wilson/Sean O’Neill (Ford Escort MkII) who were on only their second outing this year, and suffered from high tyre wear, with a set of new rear tyres only lasting 12 miles.
Making his second forest outing this year was tarmac specialist Barry Lindsay who was co-driven this time by Caroline Lodge in his 1600cc Peugeot 106; they were in a close battle all day for 1600 class honours but narrowly failed to win the class. Fifth place ANECCC finishers was Alistair Hutchinson in his LPG powered Renault Clio, co-driven by first time co-driver Joe Hutchinson. Alistair more regularly competes on tarmac events but this was his first run on his new forest suspension, and was pleased to win the 2.0ltr class. Having another clean run were Joanna Wickham/Josh Davison (Subaru Impreza) again reporting no mishaps, but are now thinking of taking in some tarmac rallies, having concentrated on forest rallies in recent years.
The remaining SG Petch ANECCC finishers were all well down the results because they all went off on the second stage which resulted in them all taking a stage maximum penalty. David Crozier/Graeme Rumney (Peugeot 205) finished the highest despite having the additional problem of an alternator that was not charging. Despite their time loss on the second stage both Neil Ayre/Adam Bradford (Mitsubishi Evo 6) and Colin Butler/St John Dykes (Subaru Impreza) enjoyed the rally and were pleased to reach the finish with no further problems.
The only non finisher among the SG Petch ANECCC competitors were Charlie Taylor/Steve Bielby (Ford Escort MkII) who were running well inside the top 5 until they stopped on the 4th stage with a broken gearbox.
After eight round the current points standings are:-
Drivers
Richard Cook 100 pts, Mark I’Anson 51 pts, Barry Lindsay 49 pts, Michael Glendinning 47 pts, Charlie Taylor 43 pts, and Joanna Wickham 33 pts.
Co-drivers.
Edwin Cook 100 pts, Steve Bielby 43 pts, Andrew Roughhead and St John Dykes 41 pts, Caroline Lodge 40 pts and Michael Lindsay 37pts.
The SG Petch ANECCC championship now heads to the Otterburn Ranges in Northumberland for 3 tarmac rallies, the first of these is the Tyneside stages on the 31st July, full details, regulations and on-line entry is available on the rally website. www.alnwickmotorclub.co.uk/tyneside-stages-rally This is followed on the 11th September by the Lindisfarne Rally, making a return after a years enforced absence due to military training on the ranges. Regulations and on-line entry is available at www.richard-burns.com/tdmc/lindisfarne
